All of the wonderful, new things we received in class are being used with enthusiasm and smiles. The recording phonics buttons were a real hit. My students got a kick out of hearing their own voices saying the letters and their corresponding sounds. \r\nWe have been using these \"buttons\" during our language arts centers the children have really been having so much fun practicing their phonics more now than ever. The dress up clothes closet is another wonderful addition to our classroom. Before we got the closet, the dress up clothes were in a bin and things were hard to find. Now, everything is hanging up nicely and readily accessible to the students when they play in the kitchen/dress up area. Some of the students even helped me put the closet together, which was very exciting for them. The magnifying glass/insect containers have been used to get a closer look at ladybugs, spiders, and even a grasshopper. For my future etymologists, this has been a wonderful addition to our science area. The tree puzzles, another welcome addition to our science area, have been popular as well.\r\n\r\nAll of the items we have received have been used to further the love of learning in my students. The excitement and smiles on their faces everytime I take out the recording buttons, or help catch a bug in our bug magnifying glass containers are truly wonderful things to see. Without your generosity I would not have been able to provide all of the items that help make learning more fun and hands on. We, my students and I, thank you again.","fullyFundedDate":1746787302391,"projectUrl":"project/classroom-necessities/9186367/","projectTitle":"Classroom Necessities","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Ambers","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp574131_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y123&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1639443752727","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/574131"},{"teacherId":574131,"projectId":8896795,"letterContent":"Thank you so very much for the Duplo Blocks and the new art table!\r\nThe students have been using the Duplo Blocks almost everyday since we received them. It's one of their most favorite things to play with. They always pull them off the shelf for free time. They have spent countless hours exploring and building, using their imaginations and working together to build the most amazing things. They are the perfect addition to our classroom toys.\r\nThe art table has been a life saver! The table that I originally had was not big enough for more than 4 students to sit at and have room to do projects and art activities. This made it very hard to do most projects because some of the groups in my class were made up of 5 students. I usually had to have one student sit on the floor or at another table to work on the project. Now, with the new table, almost 6 students can work on projects at the same time! It's easy to clean, too, which is very important when you have 4 and 5 year olds using paint, markers, pastels, glue, etc...\r\nWe, my students and I, really can't thank you enough for your generous donation to our classroom. You have definitely made an impact on my students for the better!","fullyFundedDate":1729786352183,"projectUrl":"project/art-and-play-table-for-little-learners/8896795/","projectTitle":"Art and Play Table for Little Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Ambers","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp574131_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y123&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1639443752727","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/574131"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_7159","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":499,"numTeachers":35,"percentFrplEligible":40,"percentAsian":7,"percentBlack":7,"percentWhite":41,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":30,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"14.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":92.6,"schoolId":7159,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Sherman Oaks Elementary Charter School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Sherman Oaks Elementary Charter School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/los-angeles-unified-school-district/sherman-oaks-elementary-school/7159"}
