As we learn about how to properly care for our bodies, I am able to provide students with supplies such as deodorant, mouthwash, chapstick, sanitary napkins, and combs so they can practice the skills we are learning in class. These resources make the lessons more meaningful because students are not only learning about healthy habits, but also have access to some of the products they need to put those habits into practice. This is especially meaningful because many of my students come from low-income households, where access to personal hygiene products can sometimes be a challenge.\r\n\r\nMy students were very excited and grateful when they first saw the materials. They were curious about where the products came from and immediately wanted to know more about the people who donated them. Many students were eager to say thank you and expressed how helpful it was to have these supplies available to them. It was a great reminder that something as simple as a hygiene product can make a meaningful difference for a student.\r\n\r\nOur next steps are to continue learning about different aspects of health and wellness and to encourage students to take responsibility for caring for themselves. We will continue connecting personal hygiene to physical health while also discussing how taking care of yourself can improve self-esteem and contribute to your mental, emotional, and social health. I want my students to understand that hygiene is more than simply looking or smelling clean—it is an important part of taking care of their overall health and well-being. Having these resources allows students to practice what they are learning and hopefully carry these healthy habits with them beyond the classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1782845465929,"projectUrl":"project/every-student-deserves-to-feel-their-bes/10340166/","projectTitle":"Every Student Deserves to Feel Their Best","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Huerta","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10532539_orig.jpg?crop=1040,1040,x87,y75&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1781589992957","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/huerta2b"},{"teacherId":1309613,"projectId":10071923,"letterContent":"Thank you for donating to my classroom.
