My students enjoyed reading this novel and learning about some of the impacts of climate change. This book allowed my students to learn about personification and simile, as well as the impact of descriptive details. \r\nWhile reading this book, my students had the opportunity to listen to the audio while following along in the book. This allowed us to pause for discussion and to respond to questions that arose. It is always fun to end the day's reading on a cliffhanger, which Alan Gratz included in many of his chapters! My students found themselves eager to get back to reading and couldn't wait for the following class period!\r\nA few of my students had visited Florida or Canada, so those storylines were of interest to them. We live in southern California, so that storyline spoke to all of us. Some of my students have experience with evacuating their homes due to wildfires, so they could relate to some aspects of Akira's story.","fullyFundedDate":1744265571169,"projectUrl":"project/fire-ice-flood-read-about-climate-dis/9079624/","projectTitle":"Fire.
