The device was assigned to the ELD teacher and implemented through a structured weekly checkout system, allowing students to borrow the iPad to attend scheduled learning sessions at their nearest Apple Store. During these sessions, students received hands-on instruction on how to effectively use technology, educational applications, and digital tools that supported both academic learning and everyday technology skills.\r\nThis opportunity helped students build confidence navigating digital platforms, strengthened their technological literacy, and increased engagement in classroom learning as technology became more integrated into instruction following the pandemic. The rotating checkout system ensured equitable access, allowing multiple students to benefit from individualized learning experiences and exposure to resources many families may not otherwise have had access to.\r\nA total of 38 students participated in the ELD program during this period, and 5 students were successfully reclassified as English proficient. The integration of technology support, combined with targeted language instruction, contributed to increased student confidence, communication skills, and academic progress while also helping bridge the digital divide for multilingual learners and their families.","fullyFundedDate":1624666824397,"projectUrl":"project/remote-teaching-english-learner-students/5447874/","projectTitle":"Remote Teaching English Learner Students","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Coronel","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7781152_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1615833005218","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7781152"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_110738","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":470,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":91,"percentAsian":18,"percentBlack":5,"percentWhite":0,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":75,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":0,"gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":61.5,"schoolId":110738,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Rise Kohyang High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Rise Kohyang High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/los-angeles-unified-school-district/rise-kohyang-high-school/110738"}
