They were genuinely excited to play with all their new materials!\r\n\r\nWe will be working with different mediums of art in the next few weeks and it's satisfying to see how eager students are to learn with a variety of materials to choose from. It was heart warming to hear students make plans on how to use these wonderful resources together for projects in class. It was amazing to see the enthusiasm on their faces. All of my students benefitted from the resources you provided for them. The binders helped to keep their days busy and organized. The supplies have all been used up and so I will probably ask for a refill of pencils, crayons, and markers to continue our creative endeavors. \r\n\r\nWhen we received our supplies, I think the adults in the classroom were elated. Eventually as packages were opened and we pulled out our rugs and other materials the students began to take interest. Dubious at first, to be honest, but eventually the worked flowed with ease. \r\n\r\nSix of our students are culminating and moving on to High School. We are not sure what our class will look like next year. New challenges will appear but with the right supplies we can create an environment that promotes proactive strategies for better behaviors. Better behaviors in class allow for more learning opportunities. We look forward to your future help and continued support in our mission as new students join us next year.","fullyFundedDate":1726349092022,"projectUrl":"project/students-wautism-fun-and-educational-c/8746708/","projectTitle":"Students w/Autism: Fun and Educational Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. JC","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9241877_orig.jpg?crop=2357,2357,x93,y415&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1725983536822","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9241877"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_7090","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":968,"numTeachers":59,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":6,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":4,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":87,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":0,"gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"16.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":88.6,"schoolId":7090,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Richard E Byrd Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Richard E Byrd Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/los-angeles-unified-school-district/richard-e-byrd-middle-school/7090"}
