Many of my students began the year struggling with fine motor skills. Using their hands to work with Play-dough is a fun way to exercise their fine motor muscles. They were elated with joy when they saw the shipment of Play-dough and tools arrive. They had not been able to work at this center because we had no Play-dough, so they were thrilled when the materials arrived and I took them out to place at the center. \r\n They use the Play-dough two-three times a week. I have seen improvement in their writing, which has been helped by daily exercising their fine motor skills. They have so much fun and do not even know they are exercising an important skill. \r\n The next steps are to have students create letters with the materials in order to combine the Play-dough with language arts and specifically help the students who are struggling with alphabet knowledge. I am grateful for your donation and please know that it is making a positive impact in my kindergarten classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1755742280486,"projectUrl":"project/fine-motor-fun/9452842/","projectTitle":"Fine Motor Fun","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Ruelas","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2895979_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1569993322260","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2895979"},{"teacherId":2895979,"projectId":9166509,"letterContent":"When I first told my students that my project had been funded they were so excited. They were even more ecstatic when I told them they would be receiving materials to help them at home. For about a month they continually asked about learning about teeth. Once all the materials arrived, I planned a lesson in which they learned about teeth and how to care for their teeth and how important healthy gums and teeth are.\r\n\r\n They also learned and we had a discussion about the types of foods and drinks that harm their teeth and which ones do not. The day they picked out their toothbrush, toothpaste and floss sticks they were elated. The next day, many students returned raving about how they brushed and flossed their teeth. Your donation was extremely impactful to my students. This contributed to another memorable event that they will had to their kindergarten memories. \r\n\r\n The large mouth model has also come in handy when demonstrating tongue and teeth placement when learning letter sounds. It's helped boost engagement, confidence, and participation across the board.\r\n\r\nThe lamination sheets have been equally valuable. We've created reusable learning materials like flashcards, tracing sheets, and activity mats that students can use again and again.
