Your kindness has helped restore stability, comfort, and a sense of normalcy in our classroom during a time when it was deeply needed. When students first saw the new materials, they were genuinely thrilled and incredibly appreciative. Their excitement and gratitude were immediate, and your support made our return to campus feel smoother, more comforting, and far less overwhelming. Knowing that people care about their education and well-being has meant so much to them.\r\n\r\nWe have already begun using these resources in meaningful and engaging ways. The laminator and pouches have allowed us to create interactive learning experiences, including a recent Financial Literacy \"Build a Budget\" activity where students physically moved around the room to choose between options and make class decisions together. This kinesthetic approach made learning active, memorable, and fun. I have also used the laminator to preserve and display outstanding student work, such as an AP U.S. History project in which students annotated a skeleton and wrote an \"Autopsy Report\" explaining how the Great Depression economically \"killed\" Mr. America and how the New Deal attempted to revive the economy. Seeing their work proudly displayed has been incredibly motivating for them.\r\n\r\nYour support has also directly impacted student well-being and daily learning. The microwave and refrigerator have allowed me to store food and drinks for students who experience food insecurity, helping them focus on learning without the distraction of hunger. The clipboards were recently used during a Pro Se Court activity debating whether the atomic bombs were necessary to end World War II, where students organized arguments and counterarguments while moving around the room. They especially loved the colorful clipboards and commented on how much more enjoyable they were to use. Every resource you provided is actively supporting student learning and making our classroom a more engaging, supportive, and joyful place. Thank you for making this possible.","fullyFundedDate":1768173814281,"projectUrl":"project/classroom-comeback-rebuilding-learning/10002580/","projectTitle":"Classroom Comeback: Rebuilding Learning After the Flames","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Moore","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/1047609"},{"teacherId":10218199,"projectId":10078161,"letterContent":"Wow! What a difference some basic supplies can make. Thank you!! Although we are making slower progress than we would like at decorating and cozying up the College Center, there's no doubt that the things I received for this project have been extremely welcome and are helpful in our daily operations and the overall vibe of our space.\r\n\r\nI've sent along a photo of the college pennants that we have hung up; our California public universities are in the first row, serving as reminders to our students of the many more-affordable options available to them for continuing their educations. The colors and artwork on the pennants always make folks smile which makes coming into our space a positive experience.\r\n\r\nAs a committed organizer, I am so happy to be using the desk drawer organizer! Everything in my drawer no longer changes location with every drawer opening and closing. And I love that there are enough individual spaces that I can even keep my business cards tidy and close at hand.\r\n\r\nWe've already dressed a few minor scrapes and cuts with the band-aids and Neosporin, and I'm a bit suprised by how often we have needed Scotch tape! As we continue the process of making the space ours again, we have made good use of our new tape measure (determining dimensions for bulletin boards, figuring out our optimal furniture configuration, etc.) and are are looking forward to getting some colorful signage posted with the cardstock we received.\r\n\r\nThank you again for all your support! After everything in our classroom was thrown away, it was heartbreaking for my students to walk into a space without the books and materials they depended on. Your donations did more than replace those books; they rebuilt our classroom community. Seeing shelves filled again has given my students a sense of pride and belonging, and they now walk into class eager to read.\r\n\r\nThese new texts have allowed us to strengthen essential language skills in ways that feel authentic and joyful. Students are building vocabulary through contextual reading, improving comprehension strategies like predicting and summarizing, and developing confidence in speaking by discussing stories in Spanish with their peers. We practice identifying cognates, analyzing characters, and making cultural connections that deepen their understanding of the Spanish-speaking world. Reading in our classroom looks interactive and collaborative—students read independently, participate in small group discussions, act out scenes, and even write alternative endings. The books have transformed our lessons into dynamic experiences rather than simple assignments.\r\n\r\nSeveral students who were once hesitant readers are now the first to pick up a book. One student who struggled with confidence now volunteers to read aloud because she connected so strongly with a character in one of our new novels. Another student has started taking books home to read with his younger sibling, proudly translating parts of the story. Moments like these are possible because of you. Your kindness has made a lasting impact on my students' academic growth and their belief that their education matters.
