The classroom materials I received from this project allowed students to have a brand new homework folder to use nightly. This folder includes their nightly homework, a weekly overview calendar for parents, and any other exciting announcements to send home. \r\nThe other folders were used the first week of school as a \"welcome to First Grade\" folder for parents to learn more about our classroom and complete all required paperwork required by our district. It was all neatly organized using these folders! \r\nThe Play-Doh is exciting for the students on the first day of school. We play a game called \"Play Doh Get To Know\" and students can demonstrate things about themselves or likes (i.e. show me how many people live in your house! or show me your favorite food!\") in a creative way. \r\nThe color dots are useful in putting names on our pencils (builds responsibility) and also for various games and anchor charts in the classroom. It's the little things that make a big impact! \r\nLastly, the \"magic\" white erasers are way better than any eraser on a pencil. It makes such a difference to allow kids to have access to useful and functional learning tools.\r\nThank you!!","fullyFundedDate":1753982020573,"projectUrl":"project/classroom-essentials/9309166/","projectTitle":"Classroom Essentials","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Stewart","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7034632_orig.jpg?crop=958,958,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1576560460548","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7034632"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_7246","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":488,"numTeachers":21,"percentFrplEligible":12,"percentAsian":15,"percentBlack":2,"percentWhite":49,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":15,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"23.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":94.7,"schoolId":7246,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Overland Avenue Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Overland Avenue Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/los-angeles-unified-school-district/overland-avenue-elementary-school/7246"}
