These new books have transformed how students experience language—not just as a subject to study, but as something to explore, enjoy, and connect with personally.\r\n\r\nWith these texts, students are developing essential language skills in a more natural and meaningful way. They are building vocabulary through context, improving reading comprehension, and gaining confidence in interpreting authentic and leveled French texts. Beyond language mechanics, these books allow us to introduce cultural understanding, storytelling techniques, and critical thinking skills. Students are learning to make predictions, identify themes, and discuss characters—all in French, which is an incredible accomplishment at their level.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom now looks dynamic and student-centered. You might see students curled up with a book of their choice during independent reading time, participating in small group discussions, or sharing recommendations with classmates. We've created a space where reading feels accessible and enjoyable, rather than intimidating. Students are no longer just completing assignments—they are choosing to read.\r\n\r\nSome students, in particular, have truly come alive through this project. A few who were previously hesitant to participate are now among the most eager readers, proudly finishing books and asking for more. Others have discovered genres they love, from graphic novels to short stories, which has helped them stay engaged and motivated. It has been especially rewarding to see students take ownership of their learning and build confidence in their abilities.\r\n\r\nYour support has not only provided books—it has opened doors for curiosity, confidence, and connection. Having the ability to amplify my voice in the gym has also been a great help. Giving directions and instruction is much easier and all the students are able to hear. \r\n\r\nNext week we begin our TABATA workout presentations. For this assignment the students will create a group work out and lead the class through their workout. By having the speaker with two microphones, they will have a much easier time getting the classes attention and leading the large group exercises. I'm excited for all the different ways we will implement the new technology into our daily routines. \r\n\r\nThank you so much for helping use reach our goal and supporting our students. The students get so excited to see their video or photo finish and see their times. The kids want to race over and over every time there is a close race they are jumping with excitement when they see the photo on the ipad. \r\n\r\nAnother app that I have been using is one that records slow motion video and allows you to draw on top of the video to show students where their form needs improvement. This is very valuable in track events like hurdles, high jump, long jump and more. The baseball coach has also started using the same software to help with batting and pitching. We've been incorporating the magazines into our weekly French lessons, using the articles to practice reading comprehension, build vocabulary, and spark conversations entirely in French. One memorable moment was when students worked in small groups to read an article together and then proudly shared what they understood—many were surprised by how much French they could already read and understand.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the magazines, their reactions were full of excitement and curiosity. They loved that the materials felt \"real\" and authentic, like something a student their age in a French-speaking country would read. The colorful photos, engaging topics, and age-appropriate articles immediately captured their attention and motivated even hesitant readers to participate.\r\n\r\nThanks to you, our next steps include using *Allons-y!* as a foundation for ongoing projects, such as creating short written responses, discussing cultural topics highlighted in the magazine, and connecting what we read to speaking and listening activities. We will continue to track our progress throughout the year to see the impact of our strength and conditioning work outs. Your contribution made it possible for our students to engage in meaningful, active learning experiences that they will remember for years to come.\r\n\r\nOur classes have been having an amazing time with the Ball Hoop Toss activity, which combines the volleyballs you provided with the hula hoops in a challenging and exciting way.
