Many of our students come to school without access to nutritious food, and the snacks you've helped provide ensure they have the energy and focus they need to succeed in the classroom.\r\n\r\nThese snacks not only help combat hunger but also:\r\n\r\nImprove student concentration and academic performance: When students aren't hungry, they can better focus on their studies and absorb information.\r\nSupport healthy growth and development: Nutritious snacks provide essential vitamins and minerals for children's growing bodies.\r\nPromote positive classroom culture: Sharing snacks can foster a sense of community and belonging among students.\r\nWe are incredibly grateful for your generosity and commitment to supporting the well-being of our students. Your contribution has made a real and lasting impact on their lives.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your support.","fullyFundedDate":1732128309250,"projectUrl":"project/hungry-minds-need-fuel/8842378/","projectTitle":"Hungry Minds Need Fuel!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Forman","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp103042_orig.jpg?crop=960,960,x0,y112&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1718914622944","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/103042"},{"teacherId":9699486,"projectId":8691840,"letterContent":"I am writing to express our sincere thanks for helping us bring laser engraving and cutting back to our school! Students who have done these projects in the past were so excited for the return, and new students were sparked by curiosity and the creative drive to make some really lovely things.\r\nBecause our school and our students struggle so much with access to resources, this gift is especially meaningful. We were able to access laser-engraving blanks (cutting boards, coasters, keychains). Our students were able to make gifts for family for Christmas this year without the challenges that come with poverty. They were able to show love in a conventional sense, through unconventional means, learning that there is more than one way to participate in Christmas. Their gift-giving is empowering and allowed them to see how they can flex their creative muscles to express themselves and spread kindness and cheer.\r\nOur STEAM competition team will be designing and using the laser engraver to make props for our participation in the upcoming Rube Goldberg competition. They're so excited to have the resource, and are industriously engaged in solving design problems and embellishing their work with some laser-cut flair.\r\nYou've made a wonder difference for our school and our students. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.","fullyFundedDate":1725412599906,"projectUrl":"project/engraving-lifetime-steam-experiences/8691840/","projectTitle":"Engraving Lifetime STEAM Experiences","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Hollis","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/christahollis"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_28633","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":85,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":5,"percentWhite":1,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":91,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":57.8,"schoolId":28633,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about New Village Girls Academy on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"New Village Girls Academy","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/los-angeles-unified-school-district/new-village-charter-school/28633"}
