The habitat has been an incredibly helpful tool for teaching life cycles, patience, and care, and it has sparked excitement and curiosity throughout our classroom.\r\nStudents are using observation journals to draw, write, and record what they see each day, strengthening both their science and literacy skills. They eagerly check on the habitat, share their observations with classmates, and ask thoughtful questions as the caterpillars grow and change. This project has quickly become a class favorite, and my students absolutely love it. Once completed, their projects were proudly hung around the classroom, filling our space with color, creativity, and joy.\r\n\r\nAs the project evolved, the students found a meaningful new purpose for their work by using their creations as name tags for the handmade presents they prepared for their parents. Each gift was carefully made with love, and students practiced labeling their presents to show who each one was for. This project not only strengthened fine-motor and design skills, but also allowed students to experience the pride of creating something special for their families. It was a wonderful example of learning through creativity, problem-solving, and heart.
