Because of your generosity, we have officially begun our forensic unit, and the level of student engagement has been incredible. Students are eager to learn, ask thoughtful questions, and actively participate in every lab made possible by your donation.\r\n\r\nRecently, students explored hair structure and its role in forensic investigations. They learned how to properly use microscopes, prepared slides with different hair samples, and analyzed them to help identify a fictional suspect. These hands-on experiences are helping students understand scientific concepts in a meaningful and memorable way, and I am so grateful we have the materials to make this possible.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the materials, their excitement was immediate! They wanted to start using them right away! Although we had to follow our curriculum timeline, their curiosity never stopped. They continued asking questions about forensic science and eagerly anticipated the experiments they would soon be able to conduct. Now that we've begun, their enthusiasm has only grown.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, students will continue learning a variety of forensic techniques, especially those used to analyze DNA evidence from crime scenes. Ultimately, they will apply their learning by designing their own crime scene models, where they will create and analyze clues using the techniques they've practiced.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your generosity and support. You are helping bring science to life for our students, and it is making a lasting impact in our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1758769684450,"projectUrl":"project/stem-forensic-pathology-supplies/9751457/","projectTitle":"STEM- Forensic Pathology Supplies","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Quintana","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10275878_orig.jpg?crop=1280,1280,x0,y106&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1758606198364","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10275878"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_108316","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":469,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":0,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":96,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":72.4,"schoolId":108316,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Alliance Hunter Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Alliance Hunter Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/los-angeles-unified-school-district/kory-hunter-middle-school/108316"}
