The beginning of the school year begins with students testing in both subject matters in my class and are given the opportunity to demonstrate their skills and improvement in both subjects compared to their previous school years scores. Having headphones gives them the privacy to learn without worrying about what their classmates might think. I have been especially excited to see students who once avoided using the audio now using it confidently and staying engaged with their lessons. The students also enjoy having their own headphones because it makes them feel more independent and prepared to learn.\r\n\r\nThe organized storage and disinfectant spray help us keep everything clean, accessible, and ready for daily use. What touches me most is seeing the change in my students' confidence. Some students who were once hesitant to ask for help or use available supports are now more willing to participate and complete their work. They can listen to explanations as many times as they need and learn at a pace that works for them without feeling singled out. Many of you love reading, and I do too, but what you may not always see is how much teaching lives inside a single text. These new books have allowed us to work on critical reading skills like identifying theme, analyzing character development, tracking plot structure, and citing strong textual evidence. My students are learning how to ask deeper questions, how to support their thinking with proof from the text, and how to discuss literature in ways that build both confidence and critical thinking. We are not just reading to finish a chapter, we are reading to understand motivation, conflict, and the choices characters make.\r\n\r\nReading in my classroom is active. It is collaborative. It is creative. You will see students annotating in the margins, turning and talking to defend an idea, debating character decisions, and sometimes sitting in complete silence because they are fully locked in. Right now, my students are especially enjoying bringing the story to life through hands on projects. We are working on creating cardboard dioramas that showcase key events from specific chapters. In our makerspace, students are using the books you provided as inspiration to recreate powerful moments from the story. They are rereading scenes carefully to make sure the details in their dioramas are accurate. They are discussing setting, mood, and symbolism as they decide how to represent each scene visually.\r\n\r\nSome of my students who do not always see themselves as strong readers are thriving through this project. The creative element has opened a door for them. They are engaging with the text more deeply because they have ownership over how they show their understanding. Watching them in the makerspace, carefully crafting scenes, flipping back through pages to double check a detail, and excitedly explaining why they chose a certain moment is powerful. What you see is not just art. You see confidence growing. You see comprehension strengthening. You see students realizing that books are not just something assigned, they are something that can inspire creation.\r\n\r\nYour generosity is doing more than providing materials. It is building readers, thinkers, and creators. They have really helped my student immensely in doing math calculations in my classroom. The calculators helped bridge the gap in my students learning. My students are now able to quickly solve problems at their garde level and feel confident in my math class. My students use to shrug at doing math problems now they are eager and want to perform the calculations.\r\nMy students are also learning how to use a scientific calculator. They are learning how to use technology to perform operations like adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing fractions. It can be used to help students find the Least common multiple as well. They will also be using the calculators to do squares and square roots. My students are getting familiar with the function keys and are learning how to use them. This skill can be used as they advance into higher math classes to perform various calculations.
