Our carpet was very dirty and students were not comfortable working on it. We are using our new carpet to collaborate and create structures that are sturdy and free standing. This unit is a part of a team building project that helps students to learn to work as a group. Each student is responsible for a position, and to depend on each other to complete the tasks together.\r\n We also use the carpet to work on math addition and subtraction games. The real life examples help students to get a concrete idea of numbers, creating strong number sense. This allows them to move around in small groups. My students graciously appreciate everything they have. This year my focus has been to encourage students creativity by teaching them to show what they know in different ways. All thanks to the generous donation from you, who care that our students become the human behind the technology. We take several breaks and use the kinetic sand Donors Choose awarded us. Donors choose was a great source for my classroom as I came in to a classroom full of energy and excitement. Students utilize our CVC word builder daily and are demonstrating knowledge in reading three letter words. During choice time, students love to build robots using the materials given. We even use our pizza toy at choice time in which promotes language and social play within my classroom. A student of mine struggled to self-regulate and the feelings emojis helped tremendously.
