Students are able to see the book mostly within the full screen of the projector screen. This helps them to follow along with what is being read. \r\n\r\nThe product that is most exciting to the students is how interactive it can be. I have been able to record a read aloud, trivia and other interactive activities that might be difficulty for those who do not learn with just auditory directions.\r\n\r\nWe watched Harry Potter, with signed permission forms, and it has allowed students to chat amongst one another and I. They would ask questions about the characters and the plot and asked questions that would compare the films and books. \r\n\r\nThis has definitely been impactful!","fullyFundedDate":1742928349441,"projectUrl":"project/projecting-our-stories/9167909/","projectTitle":"Projecting Our Stories!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Vazquez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9844126"},{"teacherId":8328540,"projectId":8365344,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous contribution to our classroom! The resources you helped fund have had a heartwarming and immediate impact on my students through our **Compassion Project**. This initiative was designed to integrate kindness into our daily routine while creating a supportive environment for emotional regulation—and it's already making a difference.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first walked in and saw the new calm down corner items—like the soft pillows, fidget tools, sensory bottles, and mindfulness books—they were visibly excited and curious. One student quietly said, \"This looks like a place where I can breathe.\" It was a powerful reminder of how much our students crave spaces that support their emotional well-being.\r\n\r\nAs part of the Compassion Project, we held class meetings to discuss the importance of empathy, understanding emotions, and supporting one another. Students helped name the calm down corner and wrote \"compassion pledges\" to hang nearby. We also used kindness journals, where students reflect daily on how they showed or received kindness. The calm down corner has become a respected space in our classroom—used not as punishment, but as a resource for self-care and reflection.\r\n\r\nOne particularly moving moment happened when a student who often struggles with frustration asked to go to the calm down corner during a tough morning. After using a sensory tool and reading a book about feelings, he returned to class and said, \"I feel like I'm ready to try again.\" That's the kind of transformation your support made possible.\r\n\r\nNext, students will design their own \"Compassion Toolkits,\" selecting items and strategies that help them feel calm and centered. These toolkits will support continued self-regulation as we dive into our next unit on conflict resolution and building healthy peer relationships.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping us create a space filled with kindness, care, and growth. Your generosity is truly shaping a compassionate community.","fullyFundedDate":1719511545097,"projectUrl":"project/everyone-needs-compassion/8365344/","projectTitle":"Everyone Needs Compassion","teacherDisplayName":"Dr. Wilton","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8328540_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1671926808963","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/drwilton"},{"teacherId":8328540,"projectId":8447018,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting our classroom with the leadership binders! These tools have made a powerful impact on my second graders as they learn and apply *The 7 Habits of Happy Kids*. While many of our donors are familiar with technology in the home, they might be surprised at how impactful a simple tool like a binder can be when used with intention.\r\n\r\nThe leadership binders are a tangible way for students to track their personal and academic goals, reflect on their growth, and showcase their leadership skills. Each binder includes sections for goal-setting, data tracking, weekly reflections, and habit highlights. This structure has helped students develop a sense of responsibility and ownership over their learning. They're not just participating in school—they're leading their own progress.\r\n\r\nWhat excites students most is the ability to see and share their growth. Each Friday, we have \"Leadership Binder Reflection Time,\" where students update their binders and then partner-share their wins for the week. They love flipping back to earlier pages to see how much they've improved. One student proudly pointed to his reading fluency graph and said, \"I started at 42 words per minute, and now I'm at 68! That's because I practiced every day!\"\r\n\r\nOne student who has especially connected with the leadership binder is a quiet, reserved learner who once struggled with motivation. Through tracking her daily habits and setting small goals, she's blossomed into a confident classroom leader. She now volunteers to lead class discussions and helps her peers with binder organization.\r\n\r\nTechnology is amazing, but these leadership binders remind us that hands-on tools—combined with strong guidance—can have an equally transformational effect. Thank you for giving my students the chance to grow into confident, capable leaders!","fullyFundedDate":1718776929094,"projectUrl":"project/leaders-need-binders/8447018/","projectTitle":"Leaders Need Binders!","teacherDisplayName":"Dr. Wilton","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8328540_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1671926808963","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/drwilton"},{"teacherId":8328540,"projectId":8056010,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support of our classroom! The addition of the scoop rockers has truly transformed the way my students engage with learning. From the moment they walked into the room and saw the bright, inviting seats, their faces lit up with excitement. One student even exclaimed, \"Are those for us? Can we really use them?\" The joy was immediate, but what followed was even more inspiring.\r\n\r\nThese flexible seating options have encouraged movement, focus, and choice in a way that traditional seating never could. During small group reading time, students grab a scoop rocker and settle into a cozy corner with their books, fully immersed in their stories. In math, they use the rockers to collaborate in pairs or small groups on the carpet, working through problem-solving tasks while feeling comfortable and empowered. The simple act of choosing where and how to sit has given my students a greater sense of ownership over their learning.\r\n\r\nOne specific moment that stands out happened during our opinion writing unit. Students were spread out in their scoop rockers, brainstorming reasons for their favorite community helpers. One student, usually hesitant to write, eagerly shared, \"It's easier to think when I'm comfy like this.\" That shift in mindset was powerful.\r\n\r\nNext, we're launching a project-based learning unit on habitats. Students will use the scoop rockers to research, plan, and design animal habitat dioramas. These flexible seats allow them to move freely between our classroom library, the science center, and collaboration zones, keeping engagement high.\r\n\r\nThanks to your support, our classroom is not only more inviting but also more student-centered. The scoop rockers have helped create a space where students feel safe, valued, and excited to learn every day.
