Thanks to the generous support of our donors, our students now have new dramatic-play materials, costumes, play food, and baby dolls that allow them to explore the world through imaginative, hands-on play. Students eagerly become veterinarians, chefs, scientists, caregivers, and more as they act out real-life experiences and create stories together.\r\n\r\nThese materials are especially meaningful in our bilingual classroom because dramatic play provides a natural and joyful way for students to develop language. As children take on different roles, they practice vocabulary, communicate with one another, ask questions, solve problems, and express their ideas in both languages. A student caring for a baby doll, preparing a meal, or examining a \"patient\" as a veterinarian is learning new words and concepts while building confidence in speaking and listening.\r\n\r\nThe students were absolutely thrilled when they saw the new materials! Their imaginations immediately came alive as they tried on costumes, explored the play food, and began creating their own dramatic-play scenarios. It has been wonderful to watch students collaborate, negotiate roles, and include one another in their play. Thank you for helping us build a classroom where play, imagination, language, and learning come together. Your generosity is giving our youngest bilingual learners meaningful opportunities to explore the world and find their voices—one playful adventure at a time!","fullyFundedDate":1787198667208,"projectUrl":"project/building-a-bilingual-world-through-play/10499745/","projectTitle":"Building a Bilingual World Through Play","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Cano","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6334945_orig.jpg?crop=696,696,x0,y341&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1560981364526","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mcanocarrillo"},{"teacherId":6334945,"projectId":6380989,"letterContent":"The laptop has had a meaningful impact on my classroom by giving my students and me reliable access to technology for learning, teaching, and creating. Laptops were often stored in different places, cords became tangled, and valuable instructional time was spent making sure everything was powered up and accessible. Now, thanks to you, our devices are safely stored, efficiently charged, and always ready when students need them.\r\n\r\nBecause of your gift, we are able to transition smoothly into lessons that use technology for research, writing, math practice, and interactive learning activities.
