The weighted plush toys, including adorable sloths and other soft, squishy animals, have given my students comforting companions they can hold and cuddle during lessons. These special resources help me support my students' sensory needs while creating a welcoming space where they can feel safe, relaxed, and ready to learn.\r\n\r\nThe soft, cuddly animals offer students a comforting way to manage stress, take sensory breaks, and transition between activities. Having these plush toys available during instruction helps me address students' individual needs while encouraging them to participate in learning at a pace that works for them. Something as simple as holding a soft sloth or squishy animal can bring comfort during a challenging moment and help make the learning experience feel less overwhelming. I love being able to incorporate these calming resources into our daily routines and give my students additional ways to feel supported throughout their lessons.\r\n\r\nOur next steps are to continue using the plush toys as part of our individualized learning routines, offering them when students need comfort, a sensory break, or extra support during challenging activities. These hands-on science resources are helping me bring science to life for my students in a way that meets their individual needs and allows them to explore, discover, and learn at their own pace.\r\n\r\nThe science kits give my students opportunities to learn through hands-on experiences rather than relying only on books, worksheets, or verbal explanations. For students who face significant challenges, being able to touch, explore, observe, and participate in an activity can make learning much more meaningful. The materials help spark curiosity, encourage questions, and give students opportunities to experience the excitement of discovering something new.
