Your support has provided our students with valuable opportunities to engage in hands-on learning and experience science beyond the textbook.\r\nWe are using the new resources to create hands-on discovery stations in both Chemistry and Earth Science. In Chemistry, students have used the materials to make quantitative and qualitative observations and investigate chemical reactions. In Earth Science, students have explored biomes, investigated density, and used Slinkys to model P and S waves. One exciting moment was watching students physically model how seismic waves travel and then connect that experience to how scientists study earthquakes.\r\nWhen students first saw the materials, they were excited and curious. They were eager to explore the materials and discover how they connected to what we were learning in class. The hands-on activities encouraged students to ask questions, work together, make observations, and think like scientists.\r\nOur next steps are to continue our Earth Science unit by building on what students have learned about P and S waves, density, and seismic activity. Students will investigate earthquakes, Earth's interior, and how scientists use seismic waves to determine the location of an earthquake's epicenter. The new resources will continue to help students make connections between scientific concepts and real-world phenomena.\r\nWe are incredibly grateful for investing in our students and helping us create meaningful, engaging science experiences.
