The students are very excited to come up with their ideas for their linoleum stamps. I will be having students sketch their ideas on a sheet of paper. Then they will transfer their sketch onto the linoleum using carbon transfer paper. This will show their design without having to redraw it directly onto the linoleum tile. Then they will etch out the negative space using the linoleum cutters you provided in order to carve out their design. Then they will roll ink onto the design and print them onto a sheet of paper. Students will be able to keep their linoleum stamp as a memento! \r\nI know this project will be fun and even other teachers want to join in on our linoleum cutting unit. But I never had a space dedicated to storing these projects until your donation came along! Now we can store our projects safely away from prying hands and eyes. As you know, I teach art and math at a project-based school so there are a lot of hands-on projects and art pieces that students create. I also teach math so I thank you for the calculators that you funded since I tend to lose a handful of them each year. \r\n\r\nIn my art class, I plan on having students learn about how to use the Cricut cutting machine by having them design and create a tote bag with their own design. I also want to expose students to as many different mediums of art as possible, which include yarn, beads, etc.\r\n\r\nIn my grade-level team, we do a project in second semester called the American Dream Museum where students create art pieces and curate their own museum in homeroom teams. They have un in teams and with their classes.
