Having the necessary resources in a classroom is essential to my students learning. \r\n\r\nWhen my students began to see boxes arrive to our classroom, they began to wonder what was in there. We waited until all materials arrive and we began to open. They were delighted to see everything that came in. In particular the whiteboards and whiteboard erasers that will be replacing our old ones. They were also excited to see the big dice that we will be using for Math time and that they will no longer have to share with a partner, as we now have sufficient for everyone to have one of their own. \r\n\r\nThe air purifier was something most of my students had never seen before. We talked about having clean air in our classroom from now on and what a difference I would hope it makes in creating a healthy and clean atmosphere. They were excited to hear we may be experiencing less sicknesses and absences in the classroom. \r\n\r\nThe last of the materials was the 3 ring binders. We talked about how I will use them for a big surprise at the end of the year, that I will be creating from them. They are excited and anxious to see the surprise. I will be creating a 1st grade memory book for them out of all their art and writing pieces they have created through the entire year. I will also include pictures I have taken of them through out the year. This is always a classroom parents favorite item to flip through during open house and a beautiful keepsake. \r\n\r\nWe appreciate your willingness to donate and your encouraging thoughts as we continue our learning journey.","fullyFundedDate":1764640859095,"projectUrl":"project/clear-air-for-a-healthy-new-school-year/9560742/","projectTitle":"Clear Air for a Healthy New School Year","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Carbajal","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4205075_orig.jpg?crop=1920,1920,x0,y51&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1754669259539","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/maestra-carbajal"},{"teacherId":1559606,"projectId":5355713,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support of my DonorsChoose project! Because of your kindness, my 4th grade students at Hapgood Elementary received meaningful writing materials that made a lasting impact on their learning.\r\n\r\nMy students already had a strong love for writing—many of them are natural-born authors with incredible stories to tell. The Just Write! student books helped guide them through various genres and the writing process, building both their skills and confidence. These resources aligned beautifully with our 4th grade writing standards and brought structure and excitement to every writing lesson.\r\n\r\nWith the Teachers Pay Teachers gift cards, I was able to purchase engaging, teacher-created resources in both English and Spanish. These bilingual materials were essential in supporting all of my students, especially those developing their writing skills in two languages. The easel also became a valuable part of our learning space, allowing me to model writing strategies clearly—even while teaching from home.\r\n\r\nThanks to your support, my students grew tremendously as writers. They became more confident, more expressive, and more eager to write each day. Your donation did more than provide materials—it nurtured creativity, empowered young voices, and inspired future authors, journalists, bloggers, and more.\r\n\r\nFrom the bottom of my heart, thank you for believing in my students and helping them soar.","fullyFundedDate":1610657984402,"projectUrl":"project/future-authors-in-the-making/5355713/","projectTitle":"Future Authors in the Making!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Provencio","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp1559606_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1476749753508","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/maestracarrillo"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_39973","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":735,"numTeachers":27,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":8,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":89,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"27.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":82.5,"schoolId":39973,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Arthur Hapgood Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Arthur Hapgood Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/lompoc-unified-school-district/arthur-hapgood-elementary-school/39973"}
