We're incredibly excited to expand our school's wellness center by adding powerful new tools that support our students' emotional well-being and self-regulation.\r\n\r\nThis is our second wellness-focused project, and we're building on the success of our first by thoughtfully incorporating even more resources to help students reset, refocus, and thrive.\r\n\r\nWith your support, we'll be able to add a color-changing sensory light table—a tool that invites calming exploration through light and touch, especially helpful for students experiencing sensory overload or emotional dysregulation. We're also including a wide variety of fidget tools, emotion-centered books, and SEL-based games that empower students to understand and manage their feelings in healthy, constructive ways.\r\n\r\nThese resources will allow us to transform our wellness center into a safe, welcoming space where students can step away from stress, practice mindfulness, and build the skills they need for success in the classroom and beyond.\r\n\r\nFor many children, especially those navigating anxiety, trauma, or sensory processing challenges, access to these tools is not just helpful—it's essential. Your donation, no matter the size, helps us create a space where every student feels seen, supported, and capable.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in the importance of emotional wellness in education. One of the most heartwarming moments was when students walk into the newly organized music room, the happiness and appreciation on their faces always brighten the room. As the picture show, when we sing the solfege melody, students were able to refer to the solfege hands signs on the wall. With the color coded rhythm card, students are able to learn in much more efficient ways. The excitement and joy on my students' faces was truly priceless, and it reminded me of the incredible power of generosity and community support.\r\nYour donation has not only provided essential resources but has also inspired a love for learning in my students. With the sanitizing wipes to clean the shared recorders, I was able to create individualized plans for students who has IEPs. That would not have been possible without your support. Your generosity has made a lasting impact, and we are incredibly grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1733244943897,"projectUrl":"project/lets-start-with-music-games/8636158/","projectTitle":"Let's Start with Music Games","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Melanie","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9327418_orig.jpg?crop=1011,1011,x0,y127&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1697067776683","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9327418"},{"teacherId":1890600,"projectId":8929945,"letterContent":"Thank you for contributing to the new wellness lab. Seeing the kids explore the latest materials to help them calm themselves has been rewarding. I now have a library of books on anger, body, diversity, divorce, empowerment, Spanish books, feelings, friendship, grief, mindfulness, personal space, school, superpowers, and worries. Students also have new fidgets to explore to regulate emotionally. Without you, I wouldn't have these resources. \r\n\r\nStudents also enjoy using the kinetic sand and magnetic tiles when we chat to help them feel more comfortable. The \"Break the Ice\" game is also super popular —maybe a little too popular because students pretend to have problems to come play it with me. ; ) Haha. We just did the Great Kindness Challenge, and if students completed it, they could get a sensory sticker, which was also a big hit.
