The characters offer various cultural perspectives that my students can learn empathy. They love the idea of being able to play a game on the grass, hopefully it will not be too hot this week. We are so lucky to have generous donors like you that made this possible. They are able to connect with the deeper meaning of the text by creating their own community gardens and planting specific seeds that are reflective of their identity. First off, students don't have access to sewing machines in school like I did when I was younger. They have to learn how to use the machines, which requires perseverance and a level of determination that is a necessary skill. They were able to design and create beautiful story quilts and enhanced projects for their Earth and Space unit.
