One meaningful moment was when a student independently chose a cushion during a sensory break, sat quietly, and returned to learning feeling calm and ready—something that was very difficult for them before.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the cushions, they were excited and curious. They immediately noticed how comfortable they were and quickly learned that the calming corner is a safe, supportive space to reset when they feel overwhelmed.\r\n\r\nNext, students will continue learning how to use the calming corner appropriately by pairing the cushions with breathing strategies, visual supports, and guided regulation activities.
