It was funded at a perfect time when the temperature starts to warm up and students ride their bikes and skateboards to and from school. \r\nBecause of this fund we are able to provide locks for students who do not have the means of getting one. We have dealt with a few cases of theft and students who are sad because their possession was taken away. Now they know they have a place they can go with people they can trust to help them. \r\nAll staff members in the dean's office have been provided with a few locks to hand out for those students who need them. The items that you provided are already making a difference. The figit devices are used all day each period so far. They are great comfort to students going through tough times. Students also use the coloring books to calm down. Art is an excellent way to practice self care and can be self soothing. Having age appropriate art materials is essential to students social emotional skill building. The snacks also help with calming students as well as incentives for reaching academic and social emotional goals. These essential items can be costly for a teacher to sustain.
