Your gift made a meaningful difference in my students' learning experience and helped bring literature to life in a powerful way.\r\n\r\nWith your support, every student had their own copy of the book, which allowed us to read together, annotate, and truly dive into the world of Panem. For many of my students, this was the first time they felt deeply engaged in a novel. The themes of survival, courage, injustice, and identity sparked rich discussions, critical thinking, and emotional connections.\r\n\r\nSeveral of my students who normally struggle with focus and participation became some of the most vocal contributors during our reading sessions. One student even said, \"This is the first book I actually wanted to read all the way through.\" Another told me they had started reading ahead at home—something that rarely happens.\r\n\r\nBeyond improving literacy skills, this shared reading experience built classroom community. Students debated moral decisions, empathized with characters, and made connections to real-world issues. It was incredible to see them so invested.\r\n\r\nThank you again for making this possible. Your kindness and support gave my students not only books, but also confidence, curiosity, and the joy of reading.","fullyFundedDate":1736443024503,"projectUrl":"project/empowerment-through-shared-reading/9002355/","projectTitle":"Empowerment Through Shared Reading","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Fox","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9871702_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1733954006111","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9871702"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_71487","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":11,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":73,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":40,"percentIndigenous":2,"percentLatinx":43,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Record","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":34.7,"schoolId":71487,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Kelseyville Community Day School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Kelseyville Community Day School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/kelseyville-unified-school-district/kelseyville-community-day-school/71487"}
