For example, I just finished grading all of the essays from the end of the fall semester, and I cannot tell how many capitalization errors I found! I don't know why it is, but otherwise highly skilled teens have no idea what should be capitalized. So, rather than digging out the world's most boring drill-and-kill grammar book, I powered up NRI, chose the capitalization modules that my students need, and they're already working on improving their skills. Post-pandemic, it's far more likely for us to see skill gaps that are kind of odd. It depends on what grade the student was in during the pandemic, but NRI has been a lifesaver for filling those gaps.\r\n\r\nNot only is NRI good for skill gaps, it's great for teaching new skills, which is what I'm doing right now with my sophomores as they start their big research project. NRI has multiple modules to help students learn how to format non-fiction quotes and how to use MLA, which frees me up to teach more complex skills.\r\n\r\nThank you for giving me access to this fantastic tool.
