They were so excited to come back from spring break to a \"book tasting\". They spent the class period reading through the books to decide what book we will read as a class before the year ends! \r\n\r\nThey have chose to read Charlotte's Web! We will use the book to work on reading fluency and comprehension. We are also going to focus on themes of Friendship and Loyalty. If time permits, the students will do a science activity on the life cycle of a spider and hopefully watch the movie to compare similarites and differences. \r\n\r\nWe read as a whole class taking turns reading the book. I usually start the reading then \"popcorn\" someone else to read. The students read as much as they want before picking another student to read. They have to read at least half a page. We stop as we read to talk about what happend and discuss characters. Students make predictions about what they think will happen next. \r\n\r\nThank you for providing these books for my class.
