Students immediately got to work, finalizing their designs and carefully prepping the parking spots. Seeing their ideas come to life, brushstroke by brushstroke, has been an incredible experience. The project has not only allowed them to showcase their creativity but has also reinforced the importance of teamwork, planning, and perseverance. One student, after finishing their section, stepped back and said, \"I can't believe we actually did this—it's like leaving our mark on the school forever!\"\r\n\r\nBecause of you, our campus now has a vibrant, student-led work of art that brings joy to everyone who sees it. This project has strengthened our school's sense of community and given our students a real-world opportunity to tackle leadership in a meaningful way. In prior projects where we were plumbing a bathroom or outdoor sink there were only one or two connections to solder. Most students didn't get a chance to practice soldering copper pipe and just had to learn plumbing through pictures and demonstrations.\r\nYour donation has given every student a chance to solder several joints and gain proficiency with the soldering equipment. They learned to clean and fit up the joints and use the torch to seal the connection. \r\n\r\nStudents came up with all types of designs for the projects they could make and take home. Decorative jewelry stands, pot racks, and even a copper heart. One boy made a necklace display fixture (see photo) with a beautiful wooden base for his mom's gift shop. That boy signed up for a second semester in shop and said he never thought about woodwork or metal work until he started taking shop classes and now he's \"hooked.\" This semester he and a partner are building a locking propane gas storage cabinet that meets OSHA standards so we have a place to safely store our propane for soldering. \r\n\r\nA planned project that is just now getting off the ground is a solar hot water heater for our greenhouse.
