From the moment my students walk in, they are greeted by a warm, inviting space that feels like a second home. They love curling up on the soft rug with the new cushions in our library area, where the beautiful bookshelf showcases our books in such an eye-catching way that it makes them even more eager to read.\r\n\r\nThe small touches you made possible—like the jellyfish lamp, magnets, supply pouch, and even the carpet sweeper and table skirt—have created a space that feels both welcoming and functional. The students notice these details and treat our classroom with pride and care.\r\n\r\nOne of the most special parts of our new setup is the quiet corner. My students cherish this calming spot, and it has quickly become a favorite place for them to reset and refocus. One student told me, \"I love sitting on the rug because it makes reading feel cozy.\" One of my special needs students especially loves to take breaks there, watching the jellyfish lamp. It has a soothing effect that helps him calm down and rejoin the group feeling ready to learn.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping create not just a classroom, but a warm and safe environment where my students feel comfortable, cared for, and excited to learn. Your generosity has made our days brighter, and we are so grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1748621953625,"projectUrl":"project/creating-a-safe-and-inviting-classroom-f/9379899/","projectTitle":"Creating a Safe and Inviting Classroom for Every Child","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Maguire","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10044028"},{"teacherId":9644269,"projectId":8618935,"letterContent":"Thank you so very much for the donations for my centers. I ended up being switched to second grade about a month after my project launched. I work in a title 1 school and sometimes the kids struggle and are a slight bit behind grade level. The magnetic letters are PERFECT for my intervention groups. I have attached a photo of my students making words with these magnets.\r\n\r\nThe kitchen is also a fun center. Our class are buddies with the TK/K class. We keep the kitchen in their classroom. However, every Friday, our class of 2nd graders come and buddy up with these TK/K students. My students love it because they get to read aloud to their little buddy and then they get to join them in centers. I caught a picture of some of my students enjoying the kitchen center.\r\n\r\nThis experience was my first time creating a project and I was ecstatic when I got the email that I had wonderful donors that wanted to help out my classroom. I will forever be grateful for the love ad support I felt from each of my donors.","fullyFundedDate":1731560512833,"projectUrl":"project/innovative-and-educational-kindergarten/8618935/","projectTitle":"Innovative and Educational Kindergarten Centers","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Bode","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9644269"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_91856","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":524,"numTeachers":24,"percentFrplEligible":93,"percentAsian":16,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":1,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":79,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"21.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":100.0,"schoolId":91856,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Riverdale Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Riverdale Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/garden-grove-unified-school-district/riverdale-elementary-school/91856"}
