It is rare to have the arts be prioritized in a public school setting so it is with the kind hearts of donors like yourself that we are able to thrive and continue. We have our upcoming winter recital in December and so these resources will be used during practice (the kneepads) to help preserve the health of our young dancers. And the gloves will be used in two different dance performances, as we take on our Lady Gaga theme'd jazz dances. \r\n\r\nMy dance team specifically were extra excited for the kneepads because they do the most floor work, even performing often on concrete surfaces as our new MPR gets built. The kneepads make the floor work so much more manageable and helps to prevent bruising!\r\n\r\nThank you again for helping us prepare for our winter show with resources that will continue to help hundreds of dancers. We have a new project out specifically for our special needs dance program, please check that one out!","fullyFundedDate":1760369906075,"projectUrl":"project/help-keep-the-arts-alive/9540098/","projectTitle":"Help Keep the Arts ALIVE!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Kim","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp2518829_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1461719418122","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2518829"},{"teacherId":5643867,"projectId":9078859,"letterContent":"Our students were thrilled to utilize the collaborative activities you helped provide! We've been using them in a variety of group projects designed to build communication, critical thinking, and leadership skills. One standout moment was during a Field Day activity, where students wore pinnies to participate in a collaborative game. They used their communication and organizational skills to work together as a team to capture the flag. It was a fun and engaging way to strengthen teamwork amongst 7th and 8th grade AVID students.\r\n\r\nWhen students saw the materials being dropped off in my classroom, they were immediately curious about the collaborative activities we'd be doing. Most importantly, they were also able to work on their writing skills. For example, they wrote cornell notes on how to fold origami, and their classmates had to follow those directions to complete the folds. Some students didn't even know origami paper existed, and they were very impressed by the new resources available to them.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, our students next year are diving into a college and career readiness project where they'll collaborate to research potential careers, create presentations, and practice real-world skills like public speaking and teamwork. These new resources will continue to play a key role in supporting their learning. Thank you again for being a part of their journey—your support is opening doors and building confidence that will last a lifetime.","fullyFundedDate":1740690421624,"projectUrl":"project/team-building-activities-in-avid/9078859/","projectTitle":"Team Building Activities in AVID","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Park","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5643867"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_91690","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":615,"numTeachers":30,"percentFrplEligible":91,"percentAsian":4,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":4,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":85,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"7 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"20.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":78.7,"schoolId":91690,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Nicolas Junior High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Nicolas Junior High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/fullerton-school-district/nicolas-junior-high-school/91690"}
