I did not tell them you had provided them yet. When they saw them, you would have thought it was Christmas. They were absolutely giddy and could not wait to sit on them. \r\n\r\nStudents get chances to sit on them on a rotation every day. But I do have a few that really benefit from using them daily, so these students have one assigned to them to help support their learning while on the carpet. It has made a big difference for them and their stamina. A favorite moment was putting out the hopscotch courts for them. We do not have hopscotch courts on our playground, so many had not seen them before. They had so much fun, choosing to jump through them over and over. And on top of that, all the other students who walked by our classroom hopped through them, too. I even caught a couple of teachers hopping, as well! Getting kids active is a wonderful thing! We have also played dodgeball and kickball/basketball using the equipment you provided. Our next unit will be soccer. We are able to do all of this because of your generosity.\r\n\r\nInside the classroom, students now have their own cubbies and keep their things organized and ready to go home. The students have been able to create art and use their whiteboards to give an alternative way to express their answers. You may have wondered what we wanted the cookie sheets for. These provide a space for our magnetic letters to be used to show what they know about our spelling patterns. The kids love this as it is a different and fun way to show what they know.\r\n\r\nAgain, thank you for making our learning practical and fun.
