Being able to provide hands on tools like play-doh to build with and use during curriculum, fidgets, smarties, and more helped to build the connections in a fun way. \r\n\r\nFlat Stanley allowed the students to read about an adventure with the flat character. I then give them a picture of me (and my kids) as flat family that they then were able to have adventures with. They must see and touch the math not just do problems out of the book. The base 10 blocks, linking cubes, 100's boards and so much more helped to provide the hands on math learning that my students. \r\n\r\nThe calculators are great tools that I love teaching elementary kids to use as a checker of the math, if needed. Students must still show work, but having something help them check the work is amazing, especially if they don't have math help at home. Since my students learn from home, they do not all have the same supplies. They also do not have a music teacher, like many of the schools do. Being able to provide EVERY student with musical supplies, to use (and keep) at home was priceless. I appreciate you all so much! \r\n\r\nStudents were able to make music during class, and on their own time. They were provided music books so they could work at their own pace. This project was so amazing for my students. Maybe some will become musicians from this!
