This new collection will certainly ensure my students are confident in their ability to read and analyze poetry moving forward. \r\n\r\nIn my classroom reading is constantly changing and looks different day to day. Some days students have the freedom to choose what they read, and other days my students are assigned a reading that they then analyze and discuss. The Odyssey graphic novel will making learning about the heroes journey much easier and digestible for my English Learner students. These novels will teach my students how to make connects and visualize complex ideas not easily done through traditional textbooks and novels. Not only will my students be learning important aspects of literature, but they will have physical copies to reference and work closely with. \r\n\r\nIn my classroom, reading changes constantly. Some days we read together and closely analyze a text, and other days we read individually then answer questions about the text with evidence. Having this graphic novel will give students clear visuals to help them comprehend the content being taught in the novel. Thanks to the generous donation, my students will be able to work closely with a text and make connections to their own lives. \r\n\r\nWhen the novels came into the classroom, students were immediately excited and ready to start reading. My students asked when they could begin reading and using the textbooks. Our class is scheduled to begin the unit next week and my students can't wait.
