Your support has made a significant impact in our classroom, and I am excited to share how we have put these materials to use.\r\n\r\nRecently, my students embarked on creating many masterpieces—just in time for the holidays! With the vibrant watercolors and sponges you provided, each child had the opportunity to express their artistic abilities while exploring the themes of kindness and generosity that the Grinch story embodies. The moment they first laid eyes on the new materials was priceless. Their faces lit up with excitement, and they couldn't wait to dive into their artistic creations. The supplies allowed them to experiment with textures and colors in ways they had never tried before.\r\n\r\nAs we created, the classroom buzzed with enthusiasm and laughter. Students shared techniques, offered encouragement to one another, and collaborated in ways that fostered a sense of community. It was heartwarming to see them take ownership of their masterpieces, each one reflecting their unique interpretation of the Grinch.\r\n\r\nIn addition to our Grinch project, we also used the materials to create abstract fall leaves artwork, which allowed students to explore the beauty of autumn colors and shapes. Furthermore, we have plans to craft beautiful Christmas presents for their families using the same vibrant supplies to create snow globes. These thoughtful gifts will not only showcase the students' creativity but also serve as cherished keepsakes for their loved ones.\r\n\r\nWe are so thrilled about future projects, as we can't wait to create more pieces, including animal artwork for our upcoming open house exhibit. This will give the students another opportunity to explore their creativity while learning about different animal species. We are eager to see how the new materials will inspire their imaginations and engage students in these studies.\r\n\r\nThank you once again for your generosity. Your support has not only provided us with supplies but has also enriched our students' learning experiences in ways that will resonate with them for years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1727361274505,"projectUrl":"project/a-heart-for-art/8688576/","projectTitle":"A Heart for Art!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Kataoka","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8578888_orig.jpg?crop=2589,2589,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1661654143455","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/heartforart"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_28807","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":651,"numTeachers":26,"percentFrplEligible":39,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":12,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":78,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"25.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":85.5,"schoolId":28807,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Ocean View Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Ocean View Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/east-whittier-city-school-district/ocean-view-elementary-school/28807"}
