Having the art supplies available allowed us to create many hands on projects that aligned with our literature. \r\n\r\nOne of the most significant ways I teach my 6 and 7 year olds is through stories. Telling a story not only teaches us lessons, but embraces our humanity and reaches across divides. My students were immersed in stories and creative expressions using the your donations. \r\n\r\nEach week, we learned a new story, a new focus and created a new art project. These artistic responses allowed the students to fall even more in love with the story. They saw themselves in the learning. They related and could express their feelings using art supples. Furthermore, they had so much fun. \r\n\r\nThank you again for choosing to donate to my classroom- and the many other classrooms that you bless.","fullyFundedDate":1750710502062,"projectUrl":"project/art-and-literacy/9372996/","projectTitle":"Art and Literacy","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Barnes","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10041502"},{"teacherId":8570519,"projectId":9438262,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation of whiteboards, pencils, and calculators to our classroom! These may seem like small supplies on the surface, but the difference they made this semester was anything but small.\r\nThe whiteboards quickly became essential tools in our day-to-day learning. During our math warm-ups, students used their individual whiteboards to work through problems in real time. What I loved most was how unafraid they became of making mistakes. They'd try, erase, try again. One student, who had struggled with fractions, told me, \"It's easier to think when I know I can just wipe it away and try again.\" That confidence helped him with math. \r\nThe pencils were a literal lifeline. With so many families struggling financially, basic supplies like pencils often go missing by October. Your donation kept our classroom fully stocked and ready for learning every day. I can't tell you how many times I heard, \"Miss, I forgot a pencil!\" followed by a sigh of relief when I pointed them to the supply drawer you helped fill. It seems small but it meant that no student had to sit out or feel embarrassed for not having what they needed.\r\nAnd then there were the calculators. The impact of these cannot be overstated. In our algebra unit, we were finally able to work with exponents and roots without having to share one calculator between three students. Every student having their own calculator during practice, quizzes, and tests helped. for my students with learning differences or who simply need more time and tools to process information. \r\nAll of this is to say: Your donation didn't just provide supplies, it empowered my students to engage more deeply, think more critically, and participate more confidently. You helped build a classroom where kids feel prepared, seen, and capable.","fullyFundedDate":1752198800259,"projectUrl":"project/from-scribbles-to-solutions-empowering/9438262/","projectTitle":"From Scribbles to Solutions: Empowering Math Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Bobadilla","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8570519_orig.jpg?crop=4284,4284,x723,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1751127664157","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8570519"},{"teacherId":8570519,"projectId":9438222,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donations that helped us receive bean bags, cushions, and wipes for our classroom. My students are especially excited to read, collaborate, and learn in their new soft spaces, and it's made a big difference in their focus and engagement throughout the day.\r\n\r\nThe addition of wipes has also helped us maintain a clean and healthy classroom, allowing students to take pride in keeping their space tidy. They couldn't wait to start creating!\r\n\r\nA special moment was when the children worked together to make simple handprint art. They loved sharing colors and tools, and it was wonderful to see them beginning to cooperate by passing supplies and talking about their pictures. This gentle teamwork is helping them build social skills as they learn how to play and create alongside their new classmates.\r\n\r\nNext, we will continue using these materials to support our learning about colors, shapes, and counting.
