My students have been loving the math games we play. They are more engaged and ready for learning. I was able to find and make various games for them to play in partners. The materials you used went to great use! The card-stock and laminating sheets were used to create game boards and the pouches were used for items such as game pieces. And the pencils help with any paper/pencil activities we do for math. We practice everyday during our math block and I can already tell it is making a difference. The individual whiteboards, markers, and erasers have created a low-stress environment where students feel comfortable participating without the pressure of all eyes on them. We've been using the different style whiteboards to move from orthographic mapping with word mapping paddles and magnetic counting chips to more complex sentence writing with magnetic sentence strips, allowing students to progress at their own pace and build confidence in their reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.\r\n\r\nThe students' reactions to the new materials were truly heartwarming. Their faces lit up when they first saw the whiteboards and markers, eager to get started. The hands-on nature of these resources has made learning more interactive and enjoyable, fostering a sense of excitement and curiosity in the classroom. It's been wonderful to witness their enthusiasm as they experiment with words and sentences, making their learning journey more tangible and fun.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, our students are continuing to build on their foundational skills. We're currently focusing on developing more complex sentence structures and expanding their vocabulary through interactive activities using the magnetic sentence strips. Your generous contributions have given our students a fantastic head start, and we are excited to see them continue to flourish as they become more proficient and confident English language learners.","fullyFundedDate":1755738528092,"projectUrl":"project/esl-whiteboard-wipe-out/9485821/","projectTitle":"ESL Whiteboard Wipe-out","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Clarke","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6762639_orig.png?crop=398,398,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1567202218587","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/clarke712"},{"teacherId":7223040,"projectId":9236471,"letterContent":"Thanks so much for supporting \"Building Home Libraries: Fueling a Love for Reading.\" With your donation I was able to purchase books to put into book boxes that went home with the students at the end of the year. Students can now access what they need with ease and return materials to their proper places, which builds confidence and respect for shared spaces. Fun items like colorful kinetic sand and adorable squishies have truly reinforced their motivation to strive for success.\r\nLastly, I want to thank you for helping us maintain a safe, clean, and inviting classroom. The hats and binoculars arrived just in time to use while the students study and write about dinosaurs and paleontologists this year. \r\nI was running low on several supplies like the thumbs up/down paddles, headphones, and the smelly mechanical pencils. I realized I should order these things through donorschoose for next year. Therefore, while a portion of this project is for the kids this year, a part of this project will also be used for next year's class. Photos will be shared in the next day or so in which you'll see piggy banks on the student desks and students in their scientist costumes. The piggy banks are part of the financial literacy unit. The scientist costumes were from our technology unit where students learned and wrote about famous scientists and their inventions.
