Your donation has helped us create a classroom where students have the opportunity to build their skills and confidence as readers.\r\n\r\nWe are fortunate this year to be piloting a class dedicated specifically to teaching middle school students foundational reading skills. Too often, we see students navigating secondary education without one of the most essential tools they need to succeed in school and, eventually, in the workplace: the ability to read. I am incredibly proud of the work we are doing, but there is another essential piece to this puzzle: helping students develop a genuine enjoyment of reading. When students can apply their newly learned skills to books that interest them and discover a series they can't wait to read next, our work becomes easier.
