I regularly print assignments, graphic organizers, practice activities, assessments, project directions, and instructional resources. Without enough ink, I am unable to provide these materials when students need them, which can interrupt instruction and limit learning opportunities.\r\nHaving printer ink readily available helps me respond to my students' learning needs quickly. I can print differentiated activities, additional practice, visual resources, and materials for students who need extra support or enrichment. Ink also allows me to prepare engaging, hands-on lessons and STEAM projects that encourage creativity, problem-solving, collaboration, and critical thinking across multiple subjects.\r\nMost importantly, printer ink helps ensure that every student has access to the resources needed to participate fully in learning. Instead of spending valuable instructional time searching for copies or finding alternative materials, I can focus on teaching and supporting my students. Students can print research materials, images, diagrams, templates, and project resources to use in math, English language arts, social studies, science, and STEAM activities. Technology becomes a tool that connects students' ideas to tangible learning experiences. Being able to quickly print materials allows me to create lessons that encourage creativity, problem-solving, collaboration, and student choice while supporting different learning styles.\r\nThe most exciting part for my students is having access to materials that bring their ideas to life. Whether they are creating a project, completing a math activity, researching a topic, or designing an artistic presentation, students are excited to see their work become something they can hold, use, and share. Before students are ready to choose books from our classroom library, they spend a great deal of time reading decodable texts that allow them to practice skills such as CVC words, digraphs, diphthongs, long vowel combinations, and high frequency sight words. Decodable books are essential for building accuracy and confidence, but they can sometimes feel repetitive for young readers. Once students have developed those foundational skills, these new books give them the opportunity to apply what they have learned while reading stories that are more engaging and connected to their interests.\r\n\r\nReading in my classroom includes 15 minutes of fluency practice every day. I love watching the transition that happens when students move from decodable texts to being able to choose their own books. My K–3 students often rush to the classroom library to find books featuring characters they already love. Suddenly, reading practice looks very different: students are giggling to themselves, gasping at something that happens in the story, sharing funny parts with friends, and becoming completely absorbed in their books. Sometimes, when fluency practice is over, they don't want to stop reading. I've even seen students walking back to put their books away while still reading because they simply don't want to put the book down!\r\n\r\nThe students who are especially enjoying these books are those who may struggle with reading but are highly motivated by familiar characters. Having complete collections of characters like Piggy and Elephant, Grumpy Monkey, Junie B. Jones, Pete the Cat, and Biscuit gives these students a reason to keep reading. Instead of seeing reading as another difficult task, they are excited to find out what happens next.","fullyFundedDate":1787286745208,"projectUrl":"project/hooked-on-books-more-stories-from-favor/10212313/","projectTitle":"Hooked on Books: More Stories From Favorite Characters","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Barbosa","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8262528_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1726842988886","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ms-barbosao"},{"teacherId":9730504,"projectId":10422467,"letterContent":"Receiving Mod Podge for our classroom has made a wonderful impact on my students' art experiences.
