As mentioned before, my super hero students with autism absolutely love to learn about other cultures. They couldn't wait! \r\n\r\nThe activities began with the fans and bags. Each student was intrigued by the fans and they loved the soft texture of the bags. They previewed books that would be read later. Oh, my students are builders and had so working together to begin the big build with Lego type blocks. This encouraged teamwork and social communication.\r\n\r\nThey all tried a fortune cookie and talk about this Lunar New Year often. The students were so excited when the items arrived! The cart can be moved to the students to select sensory items or they can go to the cart to select an item. \r\n\r\nMy students do best when their sensory needs have been met. The sensory dispensary cart makes it easy to fulfill their sensory needs and then begin a lesson in ELA, math, science, etc. Their ability to sit and engage in the lessons has increased as a result of these items.\r\n\r\nDonors, you are one of my superheroes!
