Because of you, my Transitional Kindergarten students are already beginning to see themselves as scientists. They are using their naturally curious natures to observe and explore the world around them.\r\n\r\nEven though we have only had these materials for a few days, the impact has already been incredible. The biggest \"problem\" I am facing is that there is simply not enough time in the day for students to experience everything they want to explore for as long as they want to explore it! Their enthusiasm is contagious!\r\n\r\nYour donation has opened the door to hands-on discovery in a way that truly brings learning to life. The students are so excited about the binoculars, and are scanning the classroom and outdoor spaces as if they are on real life expeditions. I think they have definitely decided that looking through them backwards is just as interesting! They have turned into young measurement experts, finding anything and everything they can measure (pencils, blocks, tables, shoes, and, most often...me laying on the ground! They even figured out how to combine the two measuring tapes to make it longer.) They have also really loved using the microscopes to see all the tiny details they've never noticed before in bugs and plants. By far the thing they have been most excited about though are the viewfinders. So far they have only explored the ocean and space ones, but boy are they intrigued by the 3D images!\r\n\r\nThis science center is already helping my students develop the habits of lifelong learners: observing carefully, asking questions, making predictions, and sharing discoveries with one another. I will continue to grow this station because what is better than watching kids learn while laughing and feeling wonder? From the bottom of my heart, and on behalf of my very enthusiastic young scientists, thank you.","fullyFundedDate":1779384907922,"projectUrl":"project/tk-scientists-in-action/10199740/","projectTitle":"TK Scientists in Action!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. DeShields","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10478019"},{"teacherId":10478019,"projectId":10190743,"letterContent":"On behalf of my Transitional Kindergarten class, I want to extend my deepest gratitude for your generous support in funding our outdoor play materials. Because of you, my students now have access to safe and engaging equipment that has quickly become some of their favorite parts of the day.\r\n\r\nThis donation has been especially impactful because we are in the process of building a brand new TK program at a brand new school. Everything we are establishing is being shaped from the ground up. Your support has helped us create a strong foundation where young learners can thrive. In these early years, play is essential. Through play, students develop early math and literacy concepts, strengthen their social-emotional skills, build coordination, and learn how to take turns, solve problems, and persist through challenges.\r\n\r\nThe materials you provided have transformed our outdoor learning time. Students are practicing balance and body control on the beam, developing hand-eye coordination and turn-taking with ring toss, and reinforcing color and number recognition while having fun tossing bean bags at targets. Most importantly, they are having fun with their friends. One of my students has an orientation and mobility specialist that came to observe and he was so thrilled by her engagement with the outdoor play materials. He praised ME for providing such developmentally appropriate equipment, to which I, in turn, praised YOU for your generosity in making it happen.\r\n\r\nFrom both my students and myself, thank you. Your generosity has not only provided materials, but has helped shape the heart of our classroom culture during these important years of growth. I will take this start and continue running with it to build the program that these kiddos deserve!","fullyFundedDate":1776136593839,"projectUrl":"project/learning-and-growing-through-outdoor-pla/10190743/","projectTitle":"Learning and Growing Through Outdoor Play in TK","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. DeShields","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10478019"},{"teacherId":1548718,"projectId":10191193,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation of the tricycles and sand toys for our classroom! These materials have made a tremendous impact on our students' outdoor learning experiences. The tricycles are in constant use as children practice pedaling, steering, and taking turns with their friends. We have seen students build confidence and independence as they master new skills and encourage one another along the way.\r\n\r\nThe sand toys have also transformed our outdoor play area into a hub of creativity and exploration. Students work together to build roads, castles, and imaginative creations while developing problem-solving, communication, and fine motor skills. One of the most rewarding moments has been watching children collaborate on large sand projects, sharing tools and ideas as they create together. Your donation has helped provide meaningful opportunities for learning, movement, and social growth, and our preschoolers enjoy these resources every single day. There were squeals of joy and jumping up and and down. \r\nThank you so much for your generous donation to our dramatic play center! The dress-up stand and mirror have quickly become one of the most popular areas in our classroom. My students love choosing costumes, looking at themselves in the mirror, and stepping into different roles such as doctors, firefighters, teachers, and community helpers. Through their imaginative play, they are building language skills, learning to cooperate with friends, and practicing important social-emotional skills like sharing, taking turns, and problem-solving.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite moments was watching a group of students work together to create their own \"community\" in the dramatic play area. They took on different jobs, communicated with one another, and used their imaginations to solve problems as they played. Your generosity has made such a meaningful impact on our Transitional Kindergarten students. The dress-up costumes, community helper magnets, and wooden play materials have quickly become some of the most loved items in our classroom. The moment the students saw the new materials, their faces lit up with excitement and they could not wait to start exploring and pretending together.\r\n\r\nEvery day, our students are using these resources during dramatic play, small group lessons, and collaborative learning time. It has been incredible to watch them take on the roles of doctors, firefighters, veterinarians, construction workers, chefs, and teachers while practicing communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills. One special moment was seeing students work together to build a pretend community while discussing how each helper plays an important role. The community helper magnets have also helped spark conversations and strengthen students' understanding of the people who help us every day.\r\n\r\nThese hands-on materials are helping create an engaging classroom where students can learn through play, creativity, and exploration. The amount of explorative learning they have already been able to do would make a college engineering student proud. \r\nI still have more that I have yet to surprise them with but the first 3 pieces are by far my most popular choice stations.
