We have been using the new equipment during skill-building stations, cooperative games, and fitness activities. One of my favorite moments was watching students rotate through different activity stations where they practiced teamwork, balance, coordination, and sportsmanship with fun games such as \"capture the chicken\" with our new equipment. The new materials allowed more students to participate at the same time, keeping everyone active and engaged throughout the lesson!\r\n\r\nThe students were incredibly excited when they saw the new equipment. They immediately wanted to know how we would use everything and were eager to get moving. Many students commented that the new materials made PE feel even more fun and exciting. Their enthusiasm was contagious, and they were motivated to try new activities and challenge themselves in positive ways.\r\n\r\nOur next steps are to continue developing fundamental movement skills, teamwork, and lifelong fitness habits through a variety of engaging activities. Students will use the new equipment to participate in cooperative games, fitness challenges, and skill-based lessons that encourage communication, perseverance, and healthy competition. These resources help create a more inclusive and active learning environment where every student can be successful and enjoy being physically active.\r\n\r\nThank you for making these opportunities possible. Your generosity is helping our students build confidence, stay active, and develop healthy habits that will benefit them for years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1754429841166,"projectUrl":"project/active-kids-strong-minds/9411885/","projectTitle":"Active Kids = Strong Minds!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Hawkins","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7239036_orig.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1589850899976","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7239036"},{"teacherId":7239036,"projectId":9373351,"letterContent":"The new social justice books are helping students develop important literacy skills such as critical thinking, perspective-taking, analyzing themes, and supporting ideas with evidence from the text. Through these stories, students are learning to make connections between literature, history, and current events while engaging in meaningful discussions about fairness, identity, and community. Reading in our classroom is highly interactive—students participate in read-alouds, small-group discussions, literature circles, and reflective writing activities that encourage them to share their thoughts and learn from one another. Several students who were previously reluctant readers have been especially engaged with these books because they see themselves, their experiences, or topics they care about reflected in the stories. It has been rewarding to watch students become excited about reading while building empathy and a deeper understanding of the world around them.
