The Deluxe Yacker Tracker helps maintain a calm atmosphere by gently reminding students to keep noise levels appropriate, while tools like the Lakeshore Classroom Calming Kit and Calm Strips provide students with ways to self-regulate when they feel anxious or overwhelmed. The most popular item so far has been the trampoline. For instance, during independent work time, students who feel restless can use it for a quick, supervised jump break, which helps them return to tasks feeling calm and focused. The parachute have also become favorite movement-based tools that channel their energy in positive ways, creating moments of joy. The sensory tools have also supported students with anxiety by giving them tangible ways to manage stress and stay engaged throughout the day.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, students were excited and eager to explore everything. The Aquarium Gel Lap Pad and wrist weights have also been well-received by students who need extra sensory input to stay grounded. The Alphabet Affirmation Flash Cards have added a positive start to our mornings as students take turns sharing affirmations, while the Feelings & Emotions Puzzle Cards help them learn to recognize and label their emotions during social-emotional lessons. These activities have already fostered greater self-awareness and empathy among my students.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, these resources will continue to play a key role in supporting our goals. The Stop, Relax, and Think Board Game has sparked meaningful conversations during small group sessions, helping students learn emotional regulation strategies. Each tool contributes to creating an environment where students feel safe and empowered to learn.
