It is one of the favorite activities in the classroom, and throughout the day you'll find at least one, if not three, children there enjoying the stories and music the tonies provide. \r\nSome children prefer to listen with their friends, finding a character they all enjoy and listening together with the headphones and dancing along. Some use it as a calming activity to do when things just seem too overwhelming, and a favorite character can help regulate them. While new rugs are often not terribly exciting when you think about new things to add to your classroom, the right ones make a huge difference in your whole classroom environment. Our old rug had been smaller, had a large border, and the spots for each child were much smaller and closer together. While my students fit ok on it, they were cramped and kept bumping into each other accidentally.\r\nEnter the new rug!\r\nMy class was so excited when they saw we had a giant package for them. You can see in the pictures their excitement as we unrolled this new rug, and they were practically swimming in all the space each of them had! This was such a nice addition to our classroom for the last month of school, and complaints about not having enough space on the rug dropped to nonexistent. As I prepare for my upcoming class to arrive, I'm looking forward to starting the year with all my students having the space they need in our room. \r\nThank you, as always, for helping support my students!","fullyFundedDate":1746787152262,"projectUrl":"project/a-spot-for-every-student/9322723/","projectTitle":"A Spot For Every Student!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Smith","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp3337845_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1474065856337","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/katie-smith-tk"},{"teacherId":6765379,"projectId":9030143,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting our classroom. Thanks to your generous donations, our classroom has been transformed into a hub of exploration, problem-solving, and creativity through the use of Sphero Indi car robots.\r\n\r\nFrom the moment the Sphero Indi robots arrived, my students were immediately engaged. The colorful robots and the hands-on nature of the project captivated their attention and ignited their curiosity about technology and engineering. The best part was seeing how even the youngest students, many of whom were initially hesitant about technology, quickly embraced the challenge of programming the robots and watching them in action.\r\n\r\nThroughout the project, my students had the opportunity to work in teams to program and control the Sphero Indi robots. They learned valuable skills such as collaboration, sequencing, and critical thinking, all while having fun. These activities helped develop their understanding of basic coding principles and introduced them to the world of robotics in a way that felt accessible and exciting.\r\n\r\nFor many students, this was their first exposure to robotics and programming. One of my students, who typically struggles with focus and attention in other subjects, thrived during this project. He found joy in seeing the robots move based on the sequences he created, and this sense of accomplishment greatly improved his confidence and motivation in the classroom.\r\n\r\nThe impact of the Sphero Indi robots also extended beyond just STEM learning. Students were able to apply their skills in problem-solving, teamwork, and creativity, which are essential not only in academics but in life. Whether they were working together to troubleshoot a robot's path or brainstorming ways to make their robots go faster or more accurately, the collaboration and perseverance they displayed were truly inspiring.\r\n\r\nThe Sphero Indi Car Robots project has truly inspired my students and opened a world of new learning experiences for them. It has given them the confidence to explore, innovate, and be curious about the world around them. I am deeply grateful for your support, as it has made an incredible impact on their educational journey.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping us make this project a reality. Your generosity has had a lasting effect on my students and has given them memories and skills that will stay with them for years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1741867018563,"projectUrl":"project/bringing-coding-and-creativity-to-life-w/9104607/","projectTitle":"Bringing Coding and Creativity to Life with Sphero Indi Robots!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Moore","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6894654_orig.jpg?crop=798,798,x92,y15&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1571429931920","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6894654"},{"teacherId":6765379,"projectId":8469387,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting our classroom. This project has brought some new fun and exciting books to my students. In first grade, students are learning to read, and learning to love books. Having a wide selection of books is important, so students don't get bored and will continue to feed their reading skills. First graders LOVE Pete the cat books! They are fun stories that my students relate to. We use these books as read to self time, where students independently read anywhere in the room, just enjoying a good book. We also use them to learn new concepts. The book, \"Where Are You From?\", helped my students learn more about different cultures and migrants. Some of the other books were paired to lessons while teaching students about fiction and used as examples of opinion writing. Lastly, the gift items will be a great surprise for my students for the Holidays. The small mugs will be personalized with a class picture and students name, and then filled with hot cocoa, marshmallows, and a candy cane spoons. They will then be gifted to each student in the holiday bags you donated to as well.
