Their first episodes will highlight the experiences of students whose families are facing mental health challenges related to the ICE raids in San Jose. They are interviewing teachers who have been supporting students during these difficult moments, and they already have guests lined up for future conversations about mental health, identity, and daily life on the East Side.\r\nThis equipment means more than a podcast. The materials from this project allowed us to print a large batch of high-quality shirts for our newscasters, production crew, and supporters. Seeing students proudly wear their own designs has created an amazing sense of identity, ownership, and school pride.\r\nThe most exciting part for our students was watching their digital artwork come to life on fabric. They learned how to set up print files, operate the equipment, and apply transfers with precision. For many of them, this was their first experience producing something that felt truly professional. It's been inspiring to watch their confidence grow as they create merch that celebrates our esports and media program.\r\nOne of the best moments was handing out shirts to the student reporters who help run Tiger TV. They lit up seeing their work being worn by their peers. We're already running low on vinyl because of how much demand there is for more shirts, and that's a great problem to have. Before this project, students had to carry their equipment in multiple bags, which made it hard to keep track of everything as we moved between classrooms, home games, and away events. Now, with our Nomatic 35L camera backpack, everything has a place, and our setup is faster and more professional.\r\nWhat excites our students most about this backpack is how it allows them to move like a real media crew. They're not just learning how to record esports matches; they're learning how to plan coverage, pack efficiently, and take ownership of their workflow. It's giving them a real sense of responsibility and pride in their work.\r\nOne of the coolest moments was seeing our students confidently walk out to cover their first away game with everything packed securely. They didn't have to worry about forgetting a mic or damaging a camera — they could just focus on telling the story. It gave them the chance to bring their ideas to life in a real and meaningful way. One of the first things they created were custom branded lemonade stickers for our student-run pop-up fundraisers. They carefully designed and printed high quality labels that made their product feel professional and helped boost school spirit and sales.\r\nThis project also supported our Mental Health Club. Students designed and printed custom mental health awareness stickers that were handed out at their event. Seeing their work used to spark conversation and encourage positivity across campus was powerful. It showed them that their creativity and technical skills can make a real impact in their community.\r\nAlong the way, students explored the STEM side of printing. They learned how temperature, pressure, and timing affect the final product, practiced file preparation, and refined their color science skills. At the same time, they practiced entrepreneurship by managing materials, tracking costs, and building their fundraising strategy.\r\nThank you for giving our students the resources to create, lead, and inspire. The excitement on our campus is real. Students are already asking when they can start using it, brainstorming art-meets-engineering projects, and imagining the possibilities for design, sculpture, and custom builds.\r\nThat said, we've run into an unexpected obstacle: space. We underestimated the footprint needed for the machine and its required attachments such as the hood fan, filters, and ventilation system. As soon as we unboxed the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 Creator Combo, our students jumped into action. This technology has transformed how students participate in leadership and student media. With its portable size and powerful stabilization, even our beginners are confidently taking the camera into real-world environments like the gym, cafeteria, and hallways to capture meaningful student stories.\r\nWhat's been most exciting is seeing students realize they can create professional-looking content using the same type of gear they've seen influencers and creators use online. It has sparked interest not just in video production, but in storytelling, editing, and public speaking. One student, usually quiet and reserved, asked if she could be the interviewer for our next sports recap segment. Another is already learning how to color grade and edit transitions for our weekly announcement videos. This camera has helped students step into their leadership and creativity in ways that feel authentic and fun.\r\nYour donation did more than fund a tool — it invested in student voice, pride, and the power of representation.
