Standing at the board modeling work is an old and inequitable manner of teaching that is not culturally responsive. I will use this iPad and other materials to be able to maneuver around my classroom and communicate with my students while teaching. This also serves to improve student interaction throughout the periods. Having students be able to grab this device themselves and write on it from their own seats and having it be projected to the board will allow for much higher involvement and confidence in their own work. This will ultimately lead to a better classroom environment that fosters and promotes student learning while simultaneously assisting my radar throughout the classroom.
