They couldn't believe they were going to have their own classroom store stocked with fun rewards and meaningful items. It has created a positive, respectful environment where students are working hard, helping each other, and making thoughtful choices.\r\n\r\nEach week, students now look forward to store day — they calculate earnings, track balances, and set goals for saving up for bigger rewards. These simple moments are teaching lifelong lessons about responsibility, patience, and the value of effort.\r\n\r\nYour contribution has made a lasting impact on our classroom community. The manipulatives and supplies from our Help Us Find Value project have transformed the way my students engage with math, making abstract concepts more accessible and meaningful.\r\n\r\nFrom the moment we opened the boxes, my students were filled with excitement. Many of them struggle with math due to cognitive delays, and traditional methods often leave them frustrated. Seeing tangible, interactive tools—place value blocks, counting chips, number charts, and money manipulatives—brought an immediate spark of interest. One student, who had previously avoided math activities, picked up a set of play money and started sorting it by value, proudly showing me his work. Moments like these remind me why these resources are so important.\r\n\r\nWe've used the materials in a variety of ways. When learning about place value, students used base-ten blocks to physically build numbers, helping them see the difference between ones, tens, and hundreds. For financial literacy lessons, we've practiced identifying coins and bills, making change, and even running a small \"classroom market\" where students purchase items with play money. These activities have increased engagement, comprehension, and confidence.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite lessons so far involved a real-world budgeting activity. Each student was given a \"paycheck\" and had to budget for different expenses, using their manipulatives to track spending. Watching them think critically about how much to save, spend, and even donate was incredible. One student, who had never participated in discussions about money before, excitedly told the class how he was \"saving up\" for a big purchase in our classroom store.\r\n\r\nThanks to these resources, my students are not only learning math skills but also developing independence and real-world problem-solving abilities. They are becoming more confident in handling numbers and understanding financial concepts—skills that will benefit them for years to come.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we will continue to build on these lessons by incorporating our classroom store project, where students will earn and spend money based on positive behaviors and completed tasks. This next step will reinforce what they've learned while making financial literacy even more practical and engaging.\r\n\r\nYour support has truly made a difference in my students' education. Because of you, they are gaining critical math skills in a way that meets their needs and makes learning enjoyable.
