Because of your generosity, our classroom has been transformed into a space where learning feels like an adventure.\r\n\r\nWe recently used the BreakoutEDU kits during a lesson where students had to solve a series of content-based puzzles tied to our curriculum. Working in teams, they decoded clues, unlocked boxes, and pieced together information to reach a final solution. What stood out most was the level of collaboration—students were communicating, thinking critically, and fully engaged in a way that's hard to replicate with traditional instruction.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the kits, their excitement was immediate. There were smiles, curiosity, and a lot of \"Wait, we get to do this in class?\" That energy carried throughout the entire activity, and even students who are typically more reserved jumped in and contributed.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we plan to continue integrating BreakoutEDU into upcoming units—connecting puzzles to topics like historical analysis, argumentation, and storytelling. Students will also begin designing their own breakout challenges, giving them the opportunity to apply their learning in creative and meaningful ways.\r\n\r\nThank you again for opening the door to this kind of engaging, student-centered learning. The light covers, which reduce harsh fluorescent lighting, have created a more comfortable and conducive atmosphere for learning. Students are more focused and less distracted by the glare, helping them to engage more fully with the material. The calming, softer lighting has also contributed to a better mood in the classroom, fostering a positive and productive learning space.\r\n\r\nThe new set of expo markers has allowed me to bring lessons to life in new ways. I use them to illustrate key concepts, visually break down complex ideas, and create a more interactive classroom experience. Writing on the whiteboard in real time keeps students engaged and provides them with a clear, visual representation of what we're learning. This dynamic approach to teaching helps make abstract concepts more accessible and encourages student participation. The new computer has allowed me to access up-to-date resources, streamline lesson planning, and provide students with technology-driven learning opportunities. This access to technology has empowered my students with the tools they need to succeed, encouraging them to explore, problem-solve, and be more creative in their approach to learning. These improvements have directly impacted student engagement, motivation, and academic achievement.","fullyFundedDate":1744647456797,"projectUrl":"project/effective-technology/9223301/","projectTitle":"Effective Technology","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Smith","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9967818_orig.jpg?crop=2400,2400,x0,y184&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1741819016537","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9967818"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_106872","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":331,"numTeachers":15,"percentFrplEligible":71,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":29,"percentIndigenous":9,"percentLatinx":49,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"22.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"UNCLASSIFIED","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":100.0,"schoolId":106872,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Bonsall High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Bonsall High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/bonsall-unified-school-district/bonsall-high-school-opening-august-2014-/106872"}
