We've created a welcoming and discreet space where essential items—such as hygiene products, school supplies, and basic necessities—are available throughout the day. These items are displayed in a dedicated corner of the campus, allowing students to access them comfortably and without drawing attention. This setup promotes dignity and ensures that students never feel embarrassed or singled out when meeting their basic needs.\r\n\r\nIn addition, I've assembled a mobile travel cart stocked with the most frequently requested donated items. This allows us to bring essentials directly to students when needed, offering flexibility and convenience. Many of these students face challenges at home where access to even the most basic items is limited. By bridging that gap at school, we're not only addressing their physical needs, but also reducing barriers to learning.\r\n\r\nWhen students have consistent access to hygiene products, clean clothing, school supplies, and snacks, they are more likely to attend school regularly, focus better in class, and engage more confidently with their peers and teachers. Meeting these basic needs plays a vital role in supporting their emotional well-being, improving self-esteem, and ultimately enhancing their academic performance. Our goal is to create a supportive, inclusive environment where every student feels equipped and empowered to succeed.","fullyFundedDate":1735405767933,"projectUrl":"project/empowering-our-future-essential-care-fo/8819470/","projectTitle":"Empowering Our Future: Essential Care for every Student in Need","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Torres","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9777414_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1735409500134","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9777414"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_28745","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":47,"numTeachers":7,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":2,"percentWhite":2,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":93,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"11 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"6.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":74.2,"schoolId":28745,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Nueva Vista Continuation High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Nueva Vista Continuation High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/bassett-unified-school-district/nueva-vista-high-school/28745"}
