The micro:bits that we used for the Micro:bit Into the Wild Project worked amazing. Included in the images are some of the posters they made. Thank you so much for making these possible. I finally have enough for all students to do an assignment all at the same time in the Computing & Robotics class. \r\nI had one pair of Black students who went for a walk around campus looking for nature related things that they could imitate with the sound on https://makecode.microbit.org. In the classroom row with roses they saw a hummingbird. For their poster, they included a QR code link to their sound. Although it does not sound exactly like their bird, they enjoyed creating it. Another group did a crow sound and a couple of girls did the wind, something we have a lot of in the high desert. We did lessons using the accelerometer to measure how many steps they walked outside, among others. And we are still using them in semester 2, such as programming them to remote control a robot that they built.","fullyFundedDate":1731501975748,"projectUrl":"project/microbit-into-the-wild/8500906/","projectTitle":"Micro:bit Into the Wild","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Brinkley","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp3322179_272x272.png?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1490997931913","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrhahsbrinkley"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_33433","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1549,"numTeachers":62,"percentFrplEligible":83,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":15,"percentWhite":14,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":61,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"25.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":78.1,"schoolId":33433,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Barstow High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Barstow High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/barstow-unified-school-district/barstow-high-school/33433"}
