My students read 3 Spanish poems about the theme which was: Life Goals as 8th graders. The students responded to two main questions: \"Who are we?\" and \"Who will we Become?\" We discussed the topics in both Spanish and English and then we analyzed poetry to make connections to their own lives as individuals. We dove into the idea that having goals means working hard towards them; it's not enough to have goals- you must put them into motion through effort and perseverance.\r\n\r\nEvery student began by visualizing who they thought they wanted to become. They represented their future with an image. The images were translated onto a popular Latin card game titled: LOTERIA. Every student made their own card and wrote a personal poem reflecting their future goals. \r\n\r\nThe project was very successful. The students were inspired to reflect on their lives and were motivated to work towards a bright future.
